Myorel combines ashwagandha, black cohosh, cramp bark, and valerian for gentle muscle relaxation. This formula is of particular benefit in cases of muscle cramping. Valerian has muscle-relaxant qualities, with the constituents valerenic acid, valtrate, and valeranone responsible for its antispasmodic activity. Valerian has a long history of use for muscle spasms and intestinal spasms. Ashwagandha, often referred to as Indian ginseng, exerts important adaptogenic (helps maintain homeostasis) and anti-stress effects. Viburnum opulus is also known as cramp bark because of its antispasmodic effect, not only for menstrual cramps but also for muscles of the skeletal system. Black cohosh has been used traditionally as a tonic to relieve soreness and tenderness due to muscle spasms. The antispasmodic herbs in Myorel can provide uterine relaxation, relieving occasional menstrual cramping.
